1.Why SUB?

A Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from Stamford University Bangladesh opens the door to diverse and rewarding health-focused careers.

2.What is Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)?

B. Pharm is an undergraduate degree in the pharmacy field. The duration of this course is 4 years. After the completion of this course, an individual can practice as a Pharmacist.

3.What is Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm)?

Master of Pharmacy or M. Pharm is a graduate degree which can be enrolled after the completion of B. Pharm.

5.How many semesters are offered yearly in this department?

SUB offers admission for pharmacy department twice a year. You can apply in either Spring or Summer semester. The classes start from January and July accordingly.

6.How many credits do I have to complete in this program?

B.Pharm :157 Credits ; M.Pharm : 32 + 6 Credits (thesis/lab).

8.What are the requirements to apply for Pharmacy in Undergraduate level?


Minimum GPA of 3.5 in SSC/Equivalent and HSC/Equivalent separately (including additional subject).

Minimum CGPA of 2.5 in O-Levels in five subjects and A-Levels in two subjects separately, according to the scale (A=5, B=4, C=3 & D=2). Subjects with E grade will not be considered.

The candidate must pass HSC/A-level/Equivalent with the following science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Biology and Chemistry and a minimum GPA of 2.0 in Mathematics (in a scale of 5).

Candidate must pass HSC/ "A" level or recognized equivalent examination in current year or immediate previous year.

Foreign students must have passed 12 education years and got same grades in equivalent examinations from foreign recognized institutions.

The student must pass HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents with the following science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

However, candidates having no Mathematics in the HSC/ “A” level or recognized equivalents may be admitted, but they need to take an extra 3 (three) credits course in Mathematics relevant to B. Pharm. curriculum.

9.Is the department approved by PCB?

Yes, the department is approved by the Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh.

10.What are the resources in the department?

The department is equipped with the latest and upgraded instruments in each laboratory. An excellent library with recent books on each subject. Also, have a renowned journal named Stamford Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences(SJPS).

11.How many students do we accept?

We admit 140 students per academic year.

12.Is there a training schedule in the curriculum?

Yes, one month in-plant training after the third year of B. Pharm.

13.What is the teaching methodology?

The teaching methodology involves:

Classroom teaching involving lectures,

Presentations, discussion, workshops, and seminars

Laboratory exercises through experiments/simulated experiments/case studies.Students have access to a well-stocked library with the latest editions of books and journals (print and online). Multimedia records are also available for reading and referencing.

14.What is the undergraduate research?

Undergraduate research is an inquiry or investigation conducted by an undergraduate student that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to the discipline.

15.What kind of research facilities are available in this department?

This department provide excellent research infrastructure for its researchers and have high quality research equipment’s and well settled laboratories.

16.Is there any provision for concession or scholarships?

The University provides merit-based scholarships and continuation of scholarship is as per the terms and conditions of the University.

17.What are the tuition costs?

18.What Are the student activities other than academic?

Apart from curriculum students take part in co-curricular and extracurricular and social activities. For details visit Events & Activities icon on website.

19.Is there any alumni association?

Yes, this department have a well-established alumni association named Stamford Pharmacy Alumni Association (SPAA).

20.What is the procedure for admission?

21.What are the eligibility criteria for M. Pharm Program?

The candidate must have passed B.Pharm with minimum 50% marks.

22.What is the duration of M. Pharm Program?

Duration of M.Pharm program is one years, divided into two semesters. There are two types of M. Pharm. Degree; namely- M. Pharm. (General Group), and M. Pharm. (Thesis Group).
